MARCH:
3/1-3/31 Stretch it Out: New Paintings at the Langdon St. Cafe, Montpelier |
|
![]() |
....................................................................................................................... I've been nose to the gesso these past couple months-- making silly off-kilter stretchy ladies in lavendar leotards and other athleticizing mamas. At the Langdon Street Cafe, you'll get to mull over these new paintings while enjoying coffee, cookie, beer and some great local & regional music. I'll also have a bunch of new cheap art at the show-- the old standby lucky bingo cards plus some little magnetic oval portraits. If you'd like to plan your visit to coincide with your favorite band, check out the lsc website for their music schedule. I'll host a CLOSING PARTY on Friday, March 28 from 4:00-6:00. The closing party will coincide with Montpelier's ART WALK, so come out of your den and take a big eclectic breath of fresh arty air. |
DIRECTIONS: From the Morrisville area, take Rt. 12 to Montpelier. When you arrive in Montpelier, turn left onto Spring St. and follow the rotary to the right to turn onto Main St.. Langdon St. is your second right (it's a one-way, so you can't turn onto it from Elm St.). You will probably have the best luck finding parking on Main St. or in the public lot behind City Hall (farther down Main St. on your left) and then walking to the Cafe.
From both the Stowe & Burlington areas (i.e. if you take Rt 89 to get to Montpelier), follow Rt. 2/Memorial Drive toward Montpelier after you exit the highway and take a left onto Main St.. Langdon St. is your first left after the four-way traffic light at State St..
SECOND WEDNESDAYS: 3/12, 4/9 Lamoille Valley Year Round Farmer's Market, Morrisville @ the old grange (new River Arts Building)
Have you heard? Morrisville's got a new year-round farmer & artisan market coming to town! I'll be selling my cheap art on these Wednesdays and maybe doing some sort of fun demo or quick charicatures. The market runs from 3:00-7:00. It will move outside when the weather gets warmer.
DIRECTIONS: Get yourself to the blinking stop light in downtown Morrisville by following Rt. 100 N if you're coming from the Stowe/Waterbury area. Go straight at the stop light. Take your first left onto Pleasant St. You'll see the old Grange Hall/new River Arts building on your right in a second or two after turning onto Pleasant St.

SECOND WEDNESDAYS: 4/9 Lamoille Valley Year Round Farmer's Market, Morrisville @ the Old Grange Hall (the New River Arts Building) >>>>>>>>>>>>See above
4/17-5/31 Sprouting: New Paintings @ the Green Goddess Cafe, Stowe, VT
I'll be adding, re-arranging, amending and contending to bring you some energetic, vibrant paintings for spring. The Green Goddess is a beautiful, light and peaceful space. They make a killer smoothie and I hear their Huevos Rancheros are dynamite. Opening party TBA.
DIRECTIONS: From Morrisville and points north, take Rt. 100 S through the village of Stowe. The Green Goddess Cafe is located just past River Rd. on your right in a low-slung complex of shops. It has a little light green (sage) sign on the building. From Waterbury and beyond, take Rt. 100 N toward Stowe village. Before you reach the village proper (with all of the little shops), you'll pass Umiak Outfitters and the Commodores Inn on your right. Immediately start looking for the Green Goddess on your left.
4/28-5/5/08 Vermont Week, Vermont Studio Center Residency, Johnson, VT
I was offered a full fellowship from the Art Resource Association in Montpelier to attend this year's Vermont Week at the VSC. This will be my very first official residency, so I'm super-psyched to get to live the dreamy artist dream (great food, great studio, great people) for a week only 15 miles from my home. Well, I guess it's sort of like my regular life, just fewer dishes, fresh faces and a clean studio.
ONGOING:
SUNDAYS THROUGHOUT THE WINTER/SPRING:
Mural Demos at Spruce Peak Base Lodge, Mt. Mansfield, Stowe, VT
February 17, March 2, April 6
I am designing a series of paint-by-number murals of funky mountain action scenes for visitors to work on in the "Little Top" area of the spruce base lodge. This will be a fun break if you're up on the hill and crave a little fun while you're warming up (don't worry, I'll have aprons). Upon completion, the murals will be displayed on the fence that surrounds the Mountain Lodge construction. I'll also have some of my other work on display and for sale at these events.
DIRECTIONS: Take the mountain road/Rt. 108 in Stowe (off Rt. 100 in Stowe village) to Stowe Mountain Resort. Take a right at the Spruce Peak entrance. Follow the signs to Spruce Base Lodge. After parking, ask someone in a Stowe jacket where the "Little Top" is located in the Spruce Base Lodge. HOURS: Select Sundays (see above) 11:00 - 3:00.
