Women's Festival of Crafts, Contois Auditorium, City Hall, 149 Church St., Burlington, VT......Fri 11/27, Sat 11/28 & Sun 11/29...............
Touted as the "Finest Exhibition of Women's Crafts," this Festival is in its 20th year. I am honored to be a part of it-- offering a sweet alternative to the madness of Black Friday and the ensuing Thanksgiving weekend shopping extravaganzas. Please note I will not be set up on the main floor, but upstairs, so come look for me!
HOURS: Fri 5-9 PM Sat 10 AM-6 PM & Sun 10 AM-5 PM
DIRECTIONS: From Points South: take Exit 14 of I-89 toward Burlington. Stay straight off the exit for many many blocks. Find parking. Go to church street. City Hall is the first gigantic, majestic building on your left on the walking mall area of Church St. There's pretty sculptures (deer & bear) and grand stairs. Can't miss it.

Holiday Artist Market....Contois Auditorium (Inside City Hall), Church Street, Burlington, VT........Fri 12/18- Sat 12/19
If you're like me, you wait until the last minute to shop (well, to be truthful, I'm a terrible shopper and I probably became an artist as a result of making presents because I was too broke/cheap to shop). Ok, if you're like me in your time optimism, this market is a great option for finding fun, funky, beautiful, hand-crafted gifts for your whole family. And, because it's in the big city, you can treat yourself to something nice too while you're at it (movie, music, beer, coffee, art show).
HOURS: Fri noon- 8 PM & Sat 10 AM -6 PM
DIRECTIONS: From Points South: take Exit 14 of I-89 toward Burlington. Stay straight off the exit for many many blocks. Find parking. Go to church street. City Hall is the first gigantic, majestic building on your left on the walking mall area of Church St. There's pretty sculptures (deer & bear) and grand stairs. Can't miss it.
Featured Artist, Art on Main, Bristol, VT........Featured through Fri 11/13......
ABOUT: Wow, Bristol probably has one of the sweetest downtowns ever. Oldschool brick, vibrant window displays, wide enough to be exciting, yet narrow enough to feel intimate. Yep. That's where you'll find Art on Main, a cooperative gallery I juried into last year. I'll be the featured artist with my friend & fabulous creator, Sarah Green of 'Hotholder' fame. Join us for a reception and festivities! Bristol's art walk happens at the same time. I'll have sweet new autumn-y trees, prints mounted on wood & other surprise lovelies on display.
HOURS: Mon-Sat 10 AM - 6 PM Sun 12 - 4 PM DIRECTIONS: Art on Main is located on 25 Main St., Bristol, VT. 802.453.4032. From Lamoille County and points east, it's quickest to go through Waitsfield & the Lincoln gap to downtown Bristol. The gap road winds quite a bit, so if you're sleepy or the weather is dicey, you might prefer to take Rte. 7 and approach from the west. www.artonmain.net
Sleeping Late & Other Indulgences, Boloco Burritos, Burlington, VT
Through November 2009
ABOUT: These pieces are autumn lovely, a little Klimt-ish. A really beautiful fit with the exposed brick and railroad style layout of this sweet counter-service restaurant. The burritos are delicious too-- Boloco uses local meat, so you can chow on the teriyaki in good conscience.
HOURS: 11 AM - 10 PM daily. DIRECTIONS: Boloco is on 92 Church St., Burlington, VT. Boloco is located on the right hand side if you're walking up the hill toward the church. It's just after Stella, Scribbles & Speeder & Earl's.
