lucky bingo cards

click on thumbnails below to view larger scale album. pieces with an asterisk* following the title are still available as originals.

The pieces above are painted on the backs of old bingo cards.

I say they're lucky because there's a good chance that each bingo card won once in its career. I also say this because I had one person buy one this summer who then gave it to her boyfriend who won his bike stage for that day. So there you have it-- a testimonial.

I used cray pas, gouache and sumi ink on all of these pieces and collage on some, coating them with a clear poly acrylic water-based varnish to keep them fresh and smudge-free. I like them because they're a fun way for me to experiment with new ideas without a big commitment. They are also about the only art I can fit on the walls of our single-wide.

Some of these are for sale at etsy.com
