lucky bingo cards

Click on thumbnails below to view larger scale album. This is an abridged collection of pieces done over the past year (07-08). Images are in rough chronological order. If you fall in love with one or some, you can order a close re-run/re-make/do-over of the original bingo card for $20.

The pieces above are painted on the backs of old bingo cards.

I say they're lucky because there's a good chance that each bingo card won once in its career. I also say this because I had one person buy one this summer who then gave it to her boyfriend who won his bike stage for that day. So there you have it-- a testimonial.

I use cray pas, acrylic, pencil, gouache, sumi ink, collage to create these pieces (choosing media depending on the effect I'm going for). I coat them with a clear poly acrylic water-based varnish to keep them fresh and smudge-free. Sometimes I coat them with a wicked epoxy resin to make them super-shiny. I like them because they're a fun way for me to experiment with new ideas. They can work alone or as sets (arranged together). They are about the only art I can fit on the walls of our single-wide. Sweet!
